Ellen Zitek
Actress Georgina Bouzova's character, nurse Ellen Zitek was involved in a number of storylines during her 2 years on the show including marrying Abs for a visa, cancer and her shock death in 2006's Christmas episode.

Casualty's longest serving paramedic Josh Griffiths left in 2007 but delighted us with a guest return for the 30th Anniversary. The death of his family in a house fire remains one of the show's most memorable storylines.

Tina Seabrook
Casualty was actress Claire Goose's first major TV role. Her storylines included a harrowing rape ordeal and her exit filmed in the Australian outback.

Patrick Spiller
Popular medic Patrick Spiller played by Ian Kelsey from 1999-2002, had memorable romances with Holly and Lara. His exit left fans devastated when he died following a motorway crash.

Patrick Robinson played charge nurse Ash from 1990-1996, before making a return in 2013/4, where he had been promoted to Consultant.

Maggie Caldwell
Actress Susan Cookson played tough but fair doctor Maggie Coldwell. She finally quit Holby after she was wrongfully accused of causing a patient's death but has made two brief guest returns since.

As one of Casualty's most successful exports, actor Robson Green played cheeky but loveable porter Jimmy Powell between Series 4-6.

Mike Barratt
Caring Consultant Mike Barratt was the doctor we all wanted treating us. Actor Clive Mantle played him for five years before heading upstairs to be a surgeon in Holby City. But he has since made a cameo appearance in the 30th Anniversary episode.

Jeff Collier
Matt Bardock played popular paramedic Jeff Collier for 7 years before being killed off in a shock twist storyline, which saw him die a hero. His paramedic partnership with Dixie proved memorable.

SHO Holly Miles' most memorable storylines included her stalker ordeal and one of Casualty's most popular Christmas episodes that saw her and Patrick stuck in a barn.

Jude Korcanik
Unconventional nurse, Jude was rebellious against authority but always cared for her patients. Her romance with receptionist Matt blossomed and her stabbing at the end of Series 11 is well remembered by stalwart fans.

Ewart Plimmer
As Casualty's first Consultant, Ewart Plimmer had a passion for his job at Holby. He died on the wards after suffering a heart attack in Series 3.

Eve Montgomery
Nurse Eve Montgomery was a strict but fair senior nurse who cared deeply for her fellow nursing colleagues. Her storylines involved marrying an illegal immigrant and the euthanasia of her friend Gerry, that she never forgave herself for.

Baz
Charlie's love interest, Baz appeared in the first series before making a return in 1995 to marry and have a child, Louis, with him. But she was killed off in a later return in 2004.

Comfort Jones
Devoutly religious paramedic Comfort Jones had an affair with her colleague Fin Newton and later married. Appearing in 207 episodes, after a 10 year break from Casualty, she made a cameo appearance in the 30th Anniversary episode.

Toby de Silva
Despite being in the show for less than 2 years, actor Matthew Needham made an impact on the show as troubled doctor Toby de Silva, who struggled with his confidence and the expectations put on him by his medic parents.

Jay Faldren
Charlie said he saw his younger self in Jay, who was a good nurse but saw working at the hospital as a chance to flirt and play the prankster. Fans shipped a relationship between Jay and Ruth, which resulted in them leaving Holby together.

Bex Reynolds
Actress Sarah Manners was involved in one of Casualty's most memorable storylines when her character, receptionist Bex was raped by Claire's brother Pete in 2005.
