* Russell is best know for his regular role in The Bill as D.S. Boulton. He first appeared on ITV screens as a Sunhill regular in 1995 in the episode called ‘Saved’. Boulton was involved heavily in some of the heavier goings on at Sunhill, including Dave Quinnan’s stabbing (Eyes Everywhere trilogy) and when he was accused of killing a suspect during a chase (Question of Trust 1 & 2). Russell also appeared in an episode of The Bill before he was seen as Boulton, called A Blind Eye. He played PC Trevor Gale.
