Al Hunter Ashton

It is with great sadness that holby.tv has learnt of the passing of Al Hunter Ashton, script writer for a number of CASUALTY and HOLBY CITY episodes. Al died of a heart attack.

Al Hunter Ashton will be remembered as something of a dichotomy. With the appearance of an East End bouncer and with a sharp-tongued accent the well-known T.V. “thug” was also one of Britain’s top-writers. In real life he was a gentle charitable man, he completed a number of bike rides raising significant sums of money for worthy causes.
