Actress Laila Rouass has decided to quit her role in HOLBY CITY after just 18 months on the show.
Laila, who plays surgeon Sahira Shah confirmed the news on Twitter adding ‘I have had such an amazing time on the show and worked with the most amazing people’.
The mother-of-one blamed the show’s “punishing” work schedule and is due to leave the show in Spring 2012 ready to take on a fresh challenge.
A spokesperson for the show told the Daily Mirror ‘She has proved popular so it was a surprise when we heard she’d be leaving. But we still have time to devise an exit.’
