Former CASUALTY actor Tristan Gemmill is joining the cast of ITV soap Coronation Street from July.
Tristan will play Tracy Barlow’s former husband and chef at the Bistro, Robert Preston. He makes an appearance at Deidre’s funeral.
Having signed up for a year on the show, Tristan added, ‘I’m excited to be joining such an iconic show. Coronation Street is a great British institution and it will be a huge challenge to meet the expectations of its devoted audience. But it is a challenge I am really looking forward to.’
Tristan played Doctor Adam Trueman on CASUALTY for five years. Since leaving the show in 2011, he has appeared in The Case, Call the Midwife, Death in Paradise plus a successful West End run in the musical The Bodyguard.
