Let’s Sing & Dance for Comic Relief

HOLBY CITY’s Chizzy Akudolu and CASUALTY’s Amanda Henderson and Tony Marshall will be taking part in this year’s Let’s Sing & Dance for Comic Relief.

The trio will do a special rendition of the huge hit phenomenon Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars.

They are a number of the celebrities who will take to the stage to perform in front of a star-studded panel of judges. A different panel of guest stars and comedy royalty will join each week including Jo Brand, Jason Manford, Paul O’Grady, Frank Skinner, Jennifer Saunders and Claudia Winkleman.

The celebrity performers will face three live heats before a live grand finale. A combination of the viewers at home and the judging panel will decide who makes it through to the final, with the audience crowning the eventual winner, all in aid of Comic Relief.

Chizzy Akudolu said: “Been watching Comic Relief since I was a teen, so being able to actually perform in the show is beyond mind boggling. I’m honoured and hope I sing in tune. If not, oh well, at least the audience will be laughing!!”

Tony Marshall added: “We are in it to win it – let’s funk it up! It’s for great cause so bring on the applause!”

Amanda Henderson finished: “I am so excited about being part of this and hoping to raise lots of money for this wonderful charity. It’s way out of my comfort zone and the nerves are already here and but here’s to a lot of good laughs (probably at our expense!) Let’s put the FUN in FUNK!!!”

The all new Let’s Sing and Dance for Comic Relief will be hosted by Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins and the four-part series will start next month on Saturday nights.
