Former CASUALTY actor David Ryall has died at the age of 79.
In a career spanning more than five decades, the actor was a familiar face in an array of TV favourites notably Outnumbered and also The Singing Detective, Goodnight Sweetheart and The Village. He also played Elphias Doge in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One.
He played Locum Consultant Tom Harley in a number of CASUALTY episodes of Series 8, as well as two other guest appearances in 1991 and 1998. He also had three guest appearances on HOLBY CITY.
Sherlock writer and actor Mark Gatiss paid tribute to his friend on Twitter, saying ‘The great David Ryall left us on Christmas Day. A twinkling, brilliant, wonderful actor I was privileged to call a friend. RIP.’
