STUDIED : A two year BTEC course in Performing Arts at Oldham and Tameside College, before going to Welsh College of Music and Drama for three years.
PREVIOUS JOBS : Ian had trained as a carpenter and joiner, ‘It wasn’t what I wanted to do, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do until I went to the theatre for the first time. The play was ‘Henry IV’ which starred Richard Harns. After leaving the theatre, I knew that’s what I wanted to do with my life.’
PETS : Two fish named Fish and Pea (Chip died)
HOW HE GOT CASUALTY PART : Ian was originally up for the part of Sean, Gerald Kyd however got the role and the BBC offered him the part of PC Pat.
ON THE CAST : ‘I spent most of my time on Casualty with Jan, who is a bouncing off the walls lunatic, which I like. All the cast were great and I got on well with everyone.’
FAVE MUSIC : Macy Gray, Marvin Gaye, Steps
FAVE FILM : Brief Encounter, Bladerunner and most Marx Brothers films.
