Another sad departure to hit Holby City next month; actress Jaye Jacobs has been revealed to be leaving the show. Her last episode is due to be shown on 8th March.
As one of the show’s current longest serving cast members, Jaye joined the show in March 2004 as bubbly nurse Donna Jackson. Her previous storylines include her various failed romances including an affair with surgeon Michael Spence, as well as her recent adoption of half-sister Mia.
Her final storyline involves her romance with Kieran, who returns from Afghanistan, where he was working as an army medic, after being caught up in a bomb blast. He faces leg amputation, and the couple decide to move on for a future together.
Speaking to The Central Somerset Gazette recently, she said ‘I’ve absolutely loved playing Donna. I know that I’m going to look back very fondly on the time I had with her. I really got to know the character, and she had so many facets that she was always fun to play… I’m definitely going to miss all the drama!”

That’s just awful! I loved the days when it was Donna, Maria and Maddie together, and now they have all gone D:

They pushed Donna’s character into a corner when they gave her Mia and made her a sister. She was better when was irresponsible and had all the best one-liners
