Nigel Harman joins Strictly

CASUALTY actor Nigel Harman has been announced to be a contestant on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Nigel, who currently plays medic Max Cristie in the medical drama, said: “I’m amazed, excited, and terrified to be doing Strictly. As an armchair fan of the show I have watched in awe as people have twirled and gyrated across the screen. And now it’s my turn… gulp!”

Nigel’s acting career started when he was eight – working on multiple TV series, theatre shows, and the odd movie. As well as CASUALTY, Nigel was also in EastEnders playing Dennis Rickman and appeared in Downton Abbey. Among many stage credits Nigel has performed in Guys and Dolls in London’s West End and Shrek the Musical, which he then went on to direct for the UK tour. His film work includes roles in Blood Diamond, Telstar, and The Outsiders for ITV.

He was the 13th celebrity contestant confirmed, announced on ITV’s Lorraine.

He is one of many CASUALTY and HOLBY CITY stars over the year’s to have taken part. Charles Venn, Will Mellor, Sunetra Sarker, Gemma Atkinson, Sarah Manners, Patrick Robinson, Will Thorp, Craig Kelly and Georgina Bouzova have been some of the CASUALTY actors to have taken part in the series whilst HOLBY CITY’s Tom Chambers and Joe McFadden have both won the title as well as Chizzy Akudolu, Jaye Jacobs, Laila Rouass, Verona Joseph and Patsy Kensit also having starred on the show.
