In a powerful episode of CASUALTY this weekend which saw the show highlighting the tragic state of the current NHS, three characters left the show.
The show’s current longest serving female character, Robyn – played by Amanda Henderson – was killed off following a car crash. Even the arrival of HOLBY CITY’s Sacha Levy couldn’t save her.
Amanda has played the role since January 2013 and has been involved in a number of storylines over the course of her 10 years including the death of her husband Glen.
Following Robyn’s death, nurses David and Marty quit in protest – confirming actors Jason Durr and Shaheen Jafargholi’s exits from the show also.
Jason joined the show in April 2016 and made an impact highlighting his character, David’s bipolar. David also suffered further tragic events when his son Ollie was involved in a school shooting leading to his death.
Shaheen made his debut in November 2018. Marty’s storylines included his father coming to terms with his sexuality and a failed relationship with social worker Adi.
The departures will come as a big blow to fans who haven’t seen such an exodus for a while and the trio will be sadly missed.
